The 4 files enclosed within this ZIP file are what are needed to
boot directly into pure DOS, set up the Lava card as LPT2 on hex 278,
set up a 32 meg ramdrive as the D: drive, and drop you into c:\scans to
begin scanning.

The MSDOS.SYS file within is that of Win98SE. It may not work with
Win95 or Win98. Best to amend your copy of MSDOS.SYS with the
single line to read "BootGUI=0"

Absolutely do NOT attempt to use WinME or WinXP, as neither provides
for a method of booting into pure DOS. Windows must NOT be loaded
for CIS.EXE to work properly. CIS.EXE will appear to work in a DOS
window under Windows, but results are unreliable as Windows background
housekeeping routines interrupt critical timing routines.

The Lava card ordinarily comes with a disk load of drivers, but all
but one are aimed at a computer normally running under Windows. For the
purposes of roll scanning in a pure DOS, the only file that is needed
is SETADDR.SYS

All files within this ZIP file should be dropped
into the root of c:
